This movie was all about Mark Rylance's performance again, whom I did not even know until Steven Spielberg put him in Bridge Of Spies. How is this man only getting popular now?
If you've seen the trailers, you would be forgiven to think that Dylan O'Brien took second billing. But that actually belonged to Johnny Flynn, whom I already guessed from the trailers this would be his best performance to date as I didn't enjoy what I've seen before.
The movie very smartly was written with only one location; which was the shop. Everything that mattered happened inside it. So it was a very dialogue driven story, and it felt like it was adapted from a play - but it wasn't.
And in that sense, the actors really needed to deliver. Everyone was great, but I would have preferred another actor with more gravitas to play the mob boss that was adequately performed by Simon Russell Beale.
I was not a fan of how, or where, the movie ended. Had it changed the final 10 minutes to something more nuanced, this would have been a more memorable endeavour.
