[Review] Operation Mincemeat (7/10)

Title - Operation Mincemeat
Production - See-Saw Films, Cohen Media Group
Starring - Colin Firth, Matthew Macfadyen, Kelly Macdonald, Jason Isaacs, Johnny Flynn, Mark Gatiss, Penelope Wilton, Simon Russell Beale, Alex Jennings
Writer - Michelle Ashford
Director - John Madden
Release - 11 May 2022

I was surprised that this movie was not more talked about. I thought it was a solid movie, a great story presented with great performances.

The plot itself was interesting enough. Watching it in the trailer has already gotten my interest in a tight grip. The unfortunate thing was that sometimes the movie crawled in its pacing, though not that much.

And also, Kelly Macdonald's subplot of a subtle romance with Colin Firth could not save their scenes together. They did not seem to have any chemistry and I could not care less what would become of them.

But, Firth and Matthew Macfadyen's had plenty of chemistry and hence, their friendship felt genuine. They were the ones that made the movie work. Not to mention, also, Johnny Flynn as the narrator was immersive (unlike Black Adam's).
