What a surprise, Luckiest Girl Alive turned out to be quite a suspense-filled drama that I did not see coming.

As the story unfolded, we were slowly given inkling by inkling as to what has happened in the past; which also helped to keep the audiences on our toes.

The movie was well-crafted by Mike Barker, with a competent cast led by Mila Kunis, with a role that really allowed her to shine, finally. The young actress playing her younger self, Chiara Aurelia, also did a great job of making the audience feel for her.

Connie Britton, as always, is a great supporting cast playing Kunis' onscreen mother. Her performance added so much weight to how flawed her character was as a mother.

That last exchange between Kunis and Finn Wittrock, where everything came together, was a bit abrupt. There should have been more in the conversation to show how or why Kunis' character finally realize or came into acceptance about why she did what she did, or just the realization of how she was using Wittrock's character to suppress her own trauma.

But the movie did so well to keep me guessing right until the end and that was a very satisfactory experience.
