This movie wanted to be a lot of things and ended up not doing any of them well enough. Most obviously, there's plenty of violence but never going overboard. It wanted to have heart and added a little girl in there that detracted from the violence and slowed down the pacing.
The humour could have had more adult themed to make it more interesting but with a little girl around it had to be tamed; which felt like the wrong direction since this really wasn't a movie for kids.
The action sequences were not anything new and, as mentioned, never over-the-top so it felt like half-baked. Though David Harbour gave a good performance overall, the rest of the cast were quite forgettable - especially John Leguizamo who was a caricature of a character. I will say, Cam Gigandet, whom I haven't seen in a long while, was at least entertaining.
