I liked the artwork, it's a very different style but also reminded me of the Spider-Verse movies. They both looked fresh and updated, taking very familiar intellectual properties and giving them a modern look. But of the two, I do prefer the Spider-Verse a bit more.
I also liked, though not preferred, the individual look of each Turtle. They were generally made smaller, and more of a teenager physique, but Raphael was by far the bigger Turtle.
What I didn't like was how they gave themselves their "full names". Like from "Leo" to "Leonardo" and "Mike" to "Michaelangelo". I was waiting for them to get to Raphael but they never did. They should have kept the origins of the names.
I was also pleasantly surprised that most, if not all, of the mutants were already introduced in this first movie. And, again, surprised at how the movie ended with everyone together.
But we still haven't seen Casey Jones, and I do look forward to Shredder being introduced after the tease at the end.
The writers clearly took a page out of the Spider-Man origin story when it came to fighting. It was fun to see them messing up the first time and sometimes defeating their enemies with luck.
However, I thought the story and dialogue were skewed more towards the kids side and some beats were a little dull for an adult to enjoy. But I do look forward to a sequel if there ever will be one.
