I liked how quickly the movie "got into it". That first stake-out and then identifying the target, we expected it to be a successful kill shot; because it was in the first 15 minutes of the movie. And we had to see just how good Michael Fassbender's character was.

But, that was not the case. Just through that internal monologue, we discovered how meticulous he was. And when he missed, it caught me by surprise but that's how the movie was kicked into full gear.

It wasn't the most fast-paced thriller, but there were enough of events happening to keep the pace up. However, there were a lot of times we had to piece together what was going on. Like when Fassbender's character raced into his home after seeing cigarette butts, and then to the hospital, and then the conversation with the patient's brother - then we knew what happened.

These events weren't the juicy bits and it got a little bit confusing as they happened, which was a distraction I thought.

And there were a few events that seemed a bit too convenient, such as at the gym when he stole the key card from the janitor. Things like these were too easy.

But there were some great interactions when he confronted other characters played by Charles Parnell, Kerry O'Malley, and especially another great performance by Tilda Swinton - She played her character in a way only she could.

Unfortunately, there wasn't much of a character arc for Fassbender, but still a nice performance; especially when he doesn't have a lot of great roles in the last few years.
