Patrick Wilson has too much gravitas and stature that I just could not see him as a younger brother to Jason Momoa, even in this fictional tale about super beings.

Yahya Abdul-Mateen II in the first movie was more memorable than this one. He was mostly here as the antagonist figure of the movie, his motivations were quite bland and I didn't think he was as effective this time around.

On the other hand, Randall Park had more to do this time. His comedic timing was great during the moment we saw him do a turn, and he definitely had a more expanded role than say, Abdul-Mateen did.

But speaking of reduced role, don't believe what director James Wan said about reducing Mera's screentime because you could really feel that void where Mera would have filled. Especially when something happened to her son, a mother's instinct would not have been to sit quietly while the others did the "planning". So, yes, Amber Heard's complaint wasn't unfounded.

As a piece of entertainment, it was sufficient. A whole lot of CGI to distract the eyes, though again, not as impressive as the first one as it was just more of the same. The story was very straight forward so nothing to shout about.

Oh, and Jason Momoa as a father, didn't believe it.
