I think Colman Domingo has been overlooked this award season. I thought his performance was brilliant, even though the movie wasn't strong enough to be a contender.

Even though the story followed Rustin throughout, but I thought the actor they chose to play Dr. Martin Luther King could have been more charismatic onscreen; even though the actor did look like King.

There also weren't too much focus on other characters that surrounded Domingo's character, so not a lot of big-named actors were used. But whenever Jeffrey Wright appeared, those scenes became electric. It's a real pity he only had a couple of scenes.

The movie was well-shot and well-directed, but the story itself did not lend to the movie being more engaging because our main character weren't given the highs and lows to be more entertaining. It was more of gentler bell curves and troughs on the graph.

But because the story revolved completely around Domingo, I thought he did a fabulous job carrying the movie and should have gained more recognition with more people talking about this performance; even with the Oscar nomination.
