I have been a fan of McKenna Grace but haven't been thrilled about this role for her, though she did a very decent job in this franchise nonetheless.
But both her and Logan Kim had better roles written for them in the first movie compared to this one so the character development was a bit of a step down.
Still, the movie did give us what we wanted from a Ghostbuster movie; and it opened up with that - Ecto-1 chasing down a ghost.
But what I did miss was seeing four adults catching ghosts, because here it was just weird to see a family - and especially with teenagers in the mix. Ghostbusting for me has always been an adult occupation. So the family shot didn't work for me.
And getting the OGs back didn't help much yet again. While Dan Aykroyd seemed fully committed and Ernie Hudson was decent; one can't help but feel a bit of a let down to see a non-committal Bill Murray showing up for a paycheck - even though there was a few good one-liners setup for him.
The story wasn't anything to shout about, and to have yet again another betrayal in the mix was just another check in the box.
I guess only Kumail Nanjiani's character was the absolute new thing that was introduced into the franchise, and he's always great at what he does best. However, it felt like a bit of a cheat to not have any of the members of the Ghostbusters to officially save the day.
