This is what Deadpool would call a "maximum effort"; going all out just to say something simple.
And I think Francis Ford Coppola has lost it when given such a big budget. So many scenes seemed redundant and inconsequential. So many good actors reduced to some weird and random one-liners that were redundant and inconsequential.
Adam Driver seemed to be acting in his own world that no one else was on the same page with. Same went to Shia LeBeouf. Maybe they could be in the same movie but they didn't really share a lot of screentime so it was hard to tell.
Jon Voight looked like he forced all his actin because he had no idea what was going on. And I had no idea why Laurence Fishburne and Jason Schwartzman were in this movie.
Coppola's dialogue was also very weird throughout. Some of those one-liners were unintentionally funny.
This felt like a classic example of when a director from an older generation were given way too much use of CGI and he had no idea what to do with himself.
