I have never liked this franchise. I never saw it's appeal. I wasn't a fan of Tom Hardy's take on the character.
But credit where credit is due, Kelly Marcel the writer for all three Venom movies, stepped into the leader role this time and directed an entertaining movie.
I didn't really care for the first half, but by the third act I was quite invested in the action sequences and the multiple symbiote-controlled characters.
I was, however, unsure why Chiwetel Ejiofor would want to do this, or why the producers went after him seeing as how hard they wanted this to be in the MCU and how Ejiofor is already in the MCU. I'll never understand how Hollywood thinks.
But one thing for sure was that I didn't miss the absence of Michelle Williams. She was never effective in this franchise. Or the first two movies never allowed for her to shine.
