I didn't know if this was going to be a good movie, when it really was great. No major release in the US, and straight to Netflix, I didn't dare to hope.

And with first-time director Anna Kendrick at the helm, I was very surprised this came out the way it did. It was very clever to mix up the timeline, just to keep things interesting.

But it was all the cast involved that gave really fantastic performances, and directed from the point of view of a woman, that made it really educational in the sense that we were now really seeing what the women were feeling from getting talked down or unwanted advances of the men.

The casting was just brilliant. Daniel Zovatto made a scary villain. Tony Hale and Pete Holmes, to be cast in these hate-able roles were such great choices. And newcomer Autumn Best as the "final" victim should be taken note of, her performance at the end was crushing.

It's a travesty that this isn't in the current chit-chat of the awards season. This should be a Best Picture contender and yet nobody saw it.

I adored this thriller, and could rewatch it over and over. The choices Kendrick made from scene to scene were inspiring.
