Trust A24 to turn a normal drama into something fantastical even when it's not necessary.
I thought the first two acts were not bad. But then towards the third act it kept getting nonsensical.
First, there was no need to light the car on fire; and if she did want that car to be found, she didn't think the whole thing through. Second, there was no need to hide the second murder because she could have just told the police she didn't see the shooter.
But then that ending with the silly, fantastical twist. Why can't this movie just be a normal drama. Why do they want to put special effects into it. There really was no need to put a weird vomit scene into it, too.
Kristen Stewart is always a good watch. Her partner here, however, wasn't too good of a dramatic actor to sell some of the scenes properly. But I guess a big part of why they cast Katy O'Brian was her physique, which honestly was quite impressive.
