There's always a kind of shine to these movies with the same sort of theme and storytelling. It's almost like a filter for a genre.
Still, Tyler Perry gave a solid movie with characters that were typical to this type of story, but as long as we knew what we were going in for, they didn't really matter that much. Because in the end, we just want that feel-good feel.
Kerry Washington can be loud even from her small frame. She performed big in this one, having to command so many under her. I believed her.
