Switching up the director and writers couldn't quite make the third Paddington outing as great as the first two. Even with an ensemble cast that brought in Olivia Coleman and Antonio Banderas; and why was Hayley Atwell in this movie?
The kids have grown up considerably now and the movie tried to give them something more to do but it didn't really feel right, or just way too convenient. What, no teenage angst?
The middle of the movie as they were looking for Aunt Lucy was just painting by the numbers and was putting me to sleep.
But once we hit the final showdown, things started to be fun again and that's where the Paddington magic was.
