I completely forgotten to post this up.
I know there are many haters out there who thought the quality of the movie was bad but I really liked it. I liked the story, and I liked the performances.
So much so that, for as much as I dislike her as an actress, Selena Gomez has won me over in her dramatic role here. I thought she was more than adequate.
Zoe Saldana's Oscar win was well deserved. Minus one weird number that she did while trying to find the perfect surgeon which I wished I didn't see and now I can't unsee, she should have been the co-lead as she was carrying the movie.
And I also was impressed with the dramatic performance of Karla Sofia Gascon, which was also more than adequate. But to be nominated in the Best Actress category, that's a different story. I thought she took away other more deserving slots.
Going into it, I didn't know what to expect. And then when it was revealed what the story was about in the middle of the first act, I was engrossed. The relationship between Gascon and Saldana was a very interesting one that was worth following.
