While Ne Zha's sequel proved to be better than its original, this took a step back.
Something changed between the first and the second. Suddenly, there was one too many pretty boy in the movie that looked too pretty to be believable in a story like this. And when you look like a K-Pop star, you look like all of them.
But that's not the reason to be hating on this movie, of course. The story got too big. There were too many characters going on without enough focus given to each to properly remember who they were.
In fight sequences, characters disappear and reappear whenever it was convenient. And the CGI looked worse than I remember from the first one.
Only a few characters that would make you care enough about their arc. And once again, the dubbing was just terrible. Why, when everyone was speaking Mandarin, were they still dubbed? It makes no sense.
It's hard for me to look forward to the third movie now.
