It was too slow for my taste, as each scene didn't really drive the story forward because sometimes we swap back between the two leads, to see the world from their perspective.
I didn't get Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor's performance on this first watch. I wasn't sure what she was going for and couldn't read her emotional state because (and it's probably because she performed so well) her character was putting on a front but I wasn't able to understand the layer below the surface one.
However, the movie was definitely beautifully shot. The concept of having two different perspectives was very unique. And the two leads were great performers under RaMell Ross.
