I feared that we would end up with story beats that we have all seen before where the husband or wife would show up at the comedy club on coincidence to witness their partners big night. But Bradley Cooper delivered something that was same but different and it not only did not detract from the enjoyment of the story but made it a great turning point.
Will Arnett's best performance and the most dramatic I've ever seen him. I think this was a great collaboration between director and lead actor. I'm still not sold on Laura Dern's capabilities even after all the high profile roles and nominations and wins.
