My heart broke into pieces by the end of this movie, I wasn't expecting that to happen, at all.
Such great performances from Nick Offerman, Jacob Tremblay and Dennis Quaid.
This was Christian Swegel's first feature and he crafted a story that gave us three perspectives and made the three characters so easy to emphatize with.
I could feel Tremblay's character's struggles with what he knew he needed to do and what he knew his dad wanted. And in the same way, I could feel Offerman's character's struggles with what his belief system was and how he's fighting an uphill and lonely battle.
And when things turned messy in the third act, that did beat did not let up right until the end.
