The Twilight Saga: New Moon

This is officially worst than the first movie. And I thought the first one was bad.I was in a cinema filled with girls going ooh and aah whenever there's a kiss about to happen or whenever the wolf-boy appears shirtless. And of course when Edward Cullen made his first appearance. These images already disgusted me, but it's the oohs and aahs that really made me squirm in my seat.Director Chris Weitz who took over the helm from Catherine Hardwicke, made this sequel worse and directionless compared to Twilight. From beginning to end, I had no idea where the storyline was going. Was it about the wolf-boys? Was it about the Cullens? Or was it about the new vampires?Everything was so incoherent and loose and random. The acting once again wasn't any good (except for Michael Sheen who brought some intensity at least). Dakota Fanning's appearance was a waste. The lines (taken from the book, I was told) did not work for the movie at all. The characters all sound like immature idiots, and the drama they create for themselves... well, I guess that's explosive hormonal teenagers for you.I don't care how good the book was; as a movie, it has to work on its own. And this one did not. The biggest problem was the disjointed story which got more and more difficult to understand as the minutes progressed. And not to mention how slow each emo scene took.I understand how logic and sense may not be consistent in a fantasy story; but when we kept seeing how Edward and Jacob always send Bella home using Bella's truck and then either walk or run home (depending on whether you are Edward or Jacob) on their own, then why did Alice use a car to visit Bella? Or, why do vampires even own vehicles anyway? And what was the reason why the Cullens move away in the first place? And then in the end they suddenly decided to move back? Perhaps the book made clear of this but the movie certainly did not. And it should have; rather than focusing so much time on the emotional crap that probably took up half the running time.Bella as a character is one of the stupidest and most emo I have ever seen; and is just a bad, bad influence on her audience. Edward as a 106-year-old vampire or person is non the wiser than a 16 year old. Alice still skips like she's 10. And why were the wolf-boys always topless?Rating: 3 / 10
