[/caption]Bryce Dallas Howard? I thought my memory was failing me again when she appeared. I don’t remember her being in the first two at all. Because she wasn’t. She took over Rachelle Lefevre in Eclipse after what appeared to be a clash in movie shoots. But seeing as how little screen time and acting opportunities there was for her character, Victoria, don’t think I’d blame her if something better came along.Oh well, back to the review. I think the problem now with the series is that, if you’ve never read the book, the movie alone will not be able to give you a clear picture. I’m still just so confused why is Bella so important to both the vampires and werewolves? She’s like “The One”. But she’s not. She’s just this ordinary girl caught in a love triangle (god knows why) and she’s got nothing going on for her except her whining and indecisiveness. The first three quarters were just painful to sit through. Nothing, absolutely nothing, happened. It was just all these back and forth with the love triangle as we discover more and more how much of a bitch Bella can be. But I did appreciate a few of the back stories of the other vampires, which I thought was too long overdue. They no longer were these one dimensional characters.Robert Pattinson may have gotten better with his Edward character, but not Taylor Lautner. I still don’t know what to make of Kristen Stewart, just that her character should just die. Jacob is a bigger idiot while Edward still can’t help himself. The only good thing that came out of this movie was Bryce Dallas Howard who provided some better acting and gave her character more depth even when she only had three scenes. Great casting choice. But too bad, Victoria is dead. What a huge waste of effort. I want to say Dakota Fanning too, being a long time fan, but she only had two scenes that didn’t require much effort.Poor Anna Kendrick, after her greatest achievement in Up In The Air, is stuck in this rut of a role looking more awkward. Other hot blooded males are raving on about Ashley Greene, but I just don’t see it in this series. And whatever happened to the best thing of New Moon, Michael Sheen. He didn’t even bother to make an appearance. This was probably the better instalment of this series. I didn’t hate it as much as the other two. But maybe that’s because I’m already too numbed out. There were some good things here and I think credit has to go to director David Slade, though I could have done without all those shaky camera going on.So deciding between a 4 and a 5, even though I didn’t want to claw my eyes out, the first half was more boring than Pearl Harbour. New Moon was a 3 while Twilight was probably a 4 – but I couldn’t find my review of Twilight here, strangely enough; probably because subconsciously wanting to forget I ever started watching this franchise.

  1. Hey Del,I thought New Moon was the worst of the lot. This one was certainly better than i expected. Being a fan of the book, i ll still watch all the movies although they were all major disappointments. The biggest problem I have with the whole franchise is actually the actors. I still can't get over the fact that Kristin Stewart was cast for this main role. She really really can't act. Her expression remains the same throughout the entire movie. Even for her real life interviews, everything! i ll have to admit that Rob Pat and Taylor Lautner's acting improved though. I hope they have been taking acting classes. If so, Kristin should ask them which acting school they went to.. Taylor's heartache was actually belieavable at times (when he was injured after the fight), but still not as poignant as it should be. For a non-reader of the book series, I can imagine the confusion. They didnt developed the script enough for the audience to fully understand the love between Edward and Bella, Bella and Jacob, and how much she wants to be a vampire jus to be with Edward, and how Edward doesnt want her to lose her soul by becoming one, and how the both of them can't believe each other's good fortune that the other person return their feelings..i know, it's like this crazy whirlwind of emotions rite?Nevertheless, I think David Slade did a decent enough job. My summary :-the best actor was Bella's father, best actress probably Dakota Fanning, Bryce Dallas Howard was simply too cute and innocent looking for this villain role, i wish Bree (played by Jodelle Ferland) had more airtime cause i think she's really good, and how I wish Kristin isnt the main star of this movie. My verdict : 5.5/10 (that generous 1.5 was because I am a fan of the book)LOL. sorry for my long winded comment! omg. I just realised how long it was. oops, dont mean to spam ur page..=panw, i started blogging again =Dgive me your email add? So i ll add u ?

  2. Lmao can't believe you're actually talking about "Taylor's heartache" lol. improved? maybe. good? definitely not there yet.Kristin Stewart i don't think is a bad actor. She's just bad in this series. But you've read the books so you would know the characters better."and how the both of them can’t believe each other’s good fortune that the other person return their feelings" - this made sense and would be great if it was shown onscreen.Howard is OK la, she came across as scary, fierce and yet vulnerable. I thought she was brilliant.congrats on writing again. you didn't stop THAT long though lol.
