Day Watch (5/10)
[caption id="attachment_1821" align="alignleft" width="99" caption="(imdb.com)"][/caption]Watched another dubbed version and couldn't really get into the movie. I found this sequel very confusing and all over the place. It looked like there was a bigger budget given to the movie after how successful Night Watch was. But with a bigger budget, most of the focus went to creating bigger bangs and flashy lights, which detracted from the main plot. All style and no substance is how I would put it.Plus the movie was almost two and a half hours long - half hour too long. The writers put in too much and the flashy directing from Timur Bekmambetov got tired to watch after an hour. Also, the final showdown was a birthday party - I thought that wasn't really well thought out or could have been written better. But the first one was no better too.The story kept jumping ahead of itself. One instance we're watching this, and the next it very quickly moved onto something else. Sometimes the scenes just didn't look connected and showed some lazy writing whereby things happen just so the movie can move forward. And the ending was quite surprising, I didn't see that one coming. But that final scene again, lazy writing.
