Hot Tub Time Machine (5/10)
[caption id="attachment_1802" align="alignleft" width="95" caption="(imdb.com)"][/caption]It's one of those sort of like an indie flick but not quite, with weird fantasy-like qualities but not quite, and sort of stupid... but not quite. There's not much sense in the entire movie, no continuity in many places, and the direction of the story was all over the place. Plus, tackling the issue of time travelling also led to too many loopholes to count.John Cusack was still John Cusack, though still lovable. There were some really funny lines by Clark Duke and Rob Corddry. But as for Craig Robinson, never thought much of his acting. Chevy Chase's cameo wasn't really funny too but did provide the needed push for the story to move forward, albeit in ways that would have been less lame if developed adequately.Lizzy Caplan and Lindsy Fonseca didn't have much to do nor were they effective. Crispin Glover was a surprise to me, only because I've always seen him in more serious and angry roles. But here many a time I thought he was Steve Zahn.I personally would have preferred to see better writing instead of some lazy turn of events or solely for gags. For example, that dead squirrel in the hot tub when they first arrived was unnecessary and substitute that out with a better explanation for how the tub suddenly came alive.
