Repo Men (6/10)
[caption id="attachment_1871" align="alignleft" width="214" caption="(imdb.com)"][/caption]I really enjoyed the concept of the story and how it began. But halfway through it got sidetracked and the ending was nowhere as good as how it began. The concept of loaning body parts is an attempt at some form of originality. That's fine. And fun. Seeing how Jude Law and Forest Whitaker have fun onscreen created that sense of fun for the audience as well because those two worked very well together with ample chemistry. The first twist was fine and reminded me a lot of District 9's fantastic storyline. But as the story progressed from there it didn't quite gel well together with the romance subplot. And while Law's character tried to stay away from what he did previously, instead he had to keep doing it to stay alive. So that's when it really got confusing as to who he was and what he was capable of doing, literally. And in the final act where they were getting their parts repossessed, director Miguel Sapochnik attempted to bring some artsy-fartsy directing in and I have no qualms there. But the last twist was just appalling. And I truly disliked how Whitaker's character also took a wrong turn just to have that "Hollywood story" of right and wrong distinction. Though I did miss seeing him as this loose cannon because he's so good at it.

I didn't like this movie. At. All. My friend commented it was the worst movie he's ever seen, and I felt it was boring. No, it is not original, because I've seen Repo! The Generic Opera, but they could have pulled it off it weren't for the dragging storyline and acting. My opinion? I say it could have made it, but didn't. So it's got the word 'FAIL' written all over it. Your 6/10 is way too generous! :P
