It reminded me of Knight And Day too much that this one somehow felt second-rated even with such a big cast and even though it entertained more than Knight And Day. But what's more was there has already been a lot of movies about older guys trying to get their youth back like The Expendables.Don't get me wrong, a lot of things Robert Schwentke did right and did well. There really wasn't any fault in the direction. That scene where Bruce Willis turned the car and stepped out ever so casually was still one of the coolest things I've seen in a while and it actually made me go "Hohhh!". But the writing was just unfortunate that it had to follow Knight And Day.The cast was great, it was actually very star-studded. Helen Mirren looked like she had fun. So did Willis and Morgan Freeman. Brian Cox and Karl Urban delivered. Mary-Louise Parker I thought wasn't up to par. And I would really like to see John Malkovich (like my previous post about Denzel Washington) come up with something new because his acting here was too familiar.Spoiler alert! The only fault I would say was in the writing. Especially how they killed off Freeman's character and I thought that was totally unnecessary and a feeble attempt in affecting the audience emotionally. And unfortunately it didn't work at all. It only left a bigger question mark as to why he had to die and the emotional level was strangely absent from the other characters. But at the end of the day, the cast made it work and the story tied up nicely in the end - although the final sequence I didn't get at all.
