Unstoppable (7/10)
[caption id="attachment_1939" align="alignleft" width="214" caption="(imdb.com)"][/caption]Denzel Washington and Chris Pine did well. Washington, as expected. So Pine really shone as he held his own alongside Washington.Based on real events, but again, not sure how much is the truth. And I'm not bothered about finding that out. But Tony Scott delivered yet another solid movie, with Washington yet again. And like their previous endeavour, this one revolved around trains yet again. It was almost like a deja vu, which is the title of their first collaboration. Gasp. The pacing was good as there wasn't a dull moment. The action was believable although some shots with Pine working on some contraptions never was clear. Perhaps not enough money was spent on stunts. But nevertheless, believable still.I really would like to see Washington play a character that didn't have his usual expressions. I haven't watched The Book Of Eli and that storyline should have the potential to give Washington a break from these roles we're so used to, but his character here had that same cockiness or confidence, or being someone like a mentor type, that suddenly Washington didn't look like he's not bringing anything fresh to the silver scree.Pine on the other hand is just breaking out and did great as mentioned above. He's definitely one to watch.

I love Chris Pine on Star Trek! What a hunk!! Had a crush on him ever since. Out of curiosity, what are the cons of this movie, since you rated it 7/10?
ReplyDeleteThe cons were as per mentioned in the review. Some scenes weren't clear, Washington was in another unexciting role. But also, the movie didn't make me go, I want to watch it again. It was a good movie, just nothing special or new about it. Almost generic even.Talking about movies based on real events, look at The Social Network. Now that's a breath of fresh air.
