Season Of The Witch (5/10)

[/caption]OK, so seeing Nicolas Cage swat off arrows with his sword was a sign of how badly the movie could go, but to see it received a shameful 4% on RottenTomatoes.com while Dragonball Evolution ranked higher at 13% is atrocious.(Yes, I loathe Dragonball Evolution and it's my benchmark for crappy movies.) But look at the 40+% of viewers enjoying Season Of The Witch while Dragonball Evolution only had 29%. This definitely showed the limitations of the website, unfortunately.I honestly didn't mind the story, the action was passable; and the acting, well let's just say we've all seen much better performances from Nicholas Cage and Ron Perlman. But still, I wouldn't have failed it.There came a point towards the end when the Demon finally revealed itself that it sucked the entertainment value down with no redeeming opportunities. It was such a shame to see everything the movie built up came to a screeching halt with this low budget special effects. Because up until that point, I thought the movie was above average even amidst the poor dialogue. I thought Claire Foy did well alternating between personality, and made everyone guess at the beginning.And I did appreciate how there was no romance written into the story as I initially thought (judging from the poster) Nicolas Cage was sure to fall for the girl. But I'm glad I was wrong.Nevertheless, too many things went wrong after the first half, and the ending wasn't too good either. And to think the movie opened quite strongly; though now come to think of it, correlation between the opening and the ending seemed to be absent too.
