Granted a couple of numbers were not too impressive and quite short, but still, they definitely took the focus away from the weak storyline and acting performances.
But I didn't go in for the story. I expected it to be even worse actually. However, I was somewhat pleasantly surprised at the effort put in to make this a little bit different from what we've seen previously.
There were a few sub-plots that I thought were really weak, and certain turn-of-events like when Misha Gabriel Hamilton's character betrayed Ryan Guzman's character, were extremely lazy. And that's when cinematic magic failed to engage and then entertain.
But that particular point turn into one of the more memorable dance sequence as it showed that even dance has an ugly side when done wrongly or with the wrong intentions.
And even when I didn't expect good acting chops, I thought Kathryn McCormick did a great job. And her presence was so magnetic that I couldn't take my eyes off her.
Someone needs to train this girl up and put her in more silver screens!
