The Watch (6/10)

I would have just settled for the neighbourhood watch angle and left the aliens out of this because putting these four actors together should be able to generate enough spark and interest.

With the aliens angle, I didn't think it added too much into the movie.

Every bit of the story was predictable. The jokes were not all that great except for a few really good gags that had me going.

Ben Stiller didn't bring anything new into his character. In fact, it was recycled from something old. Same goes to Vince Vaughn; and the fact that these two have been around much longer really wasn't a good excuse to not come up with anything new.

Jonah Hill and Richard Ayoade were more unpredictable in the things they were going to say so their characters were more interesting to follow.

And right at the final stretch in the last battle, of course things went completely illogical and unrealistic in terms of plot turns. But nevertheless, the fun factor was still there and I'd be lying if I said this wasn't entertaining to a certain degree.

And as for direction wise, Akiva Schaffer from SNL fame was quite good as he kept the entertaining factor intact.
