Ever since Daniel Craig took over as 007, James Bond movies have gotten slightly more interesting for me as I was never a fan before.
I do applaud the effort to make Skyfall a very different kind of Bond movie, however, I found that the elements that really made a James Bond movie were lacking. The gadgets, the Bond girls, and even the way the story was told had all moved away from the tradition it seemed.
James Bond in the past would go after the enemy. This time around, he was the prey and the bait to lure his enemies to come find him. That was the biggest thing that I did not enjoy in Skyfall.
But what I thought was the best thing about this movie was Javier Bardem as the protagonist. He oozed evil and ruthlessness. He was deliciously dark and dangerous.
Also, the action was also very entertaining, especially the opening sequence.
But is it my deja vu or is Daniel Craig's James Bond keeps getting "killed"? Whereas before, I kept complaining how no bullets will ever hit a 007 agent. Why can they not find a balance?
