I say this because those were the main parts of his movie. He didn't seem like he was aiming to tell any story. The introduction was super rushed. There wasn't much that he has said in the middle, and the ending was just a good fight.
However, even the fight scenes were vague as the camera works were either too close-up or just not very choreographed.
I do however appreciate one fight scene where Yu pulled the camera into a bird's eye view and we could see a larger part of the whole battlefield where every actor on the set was choreographed. But this kind of a well-crafted shot was just the one.
I also wasn't sure how faithful he had kept to the original story because from what I know, none of them survived.
But some of the character's choice of death was just too silly and absurd that I was bored sitting through those scenes.
Yu's main intention was to kill off his characters with a big attempt at pulling the audience's heartstrings.
Only Ekin Cheng and Adam Cheng were really worth mentioning as they were the ones who carried the movie for me.
And once again, the dubbing of the female characters were so cliche, and so irritating.
