Riddick (6/10)

I went in with very little expectations. And what I got out of it was quite satisfying.

There really wasn't a story, just a simple plot. And everything happened around that premise. It really was just a shut-off-your-brain and let the visuals take you to wherever they wanted.

But to say it was visually stunning would be wrong. All the CGI created scenes didn't add any real substance or any feel to the environment created.

However, one thing that I was happy with were the alien monsters. The opening started off with Riddick fending off a bunch of them and this never really stopped.

One thing that I found really ironic though was in the beginning Riddick said in his only serious tone, that he was getting soft and he needed to find the animal inside him, but the very next thing he did was to go and get a cute little pet; which made him looked even softer.

And in my opinion, that animal inside of him was never unleashed. Instead, what we've gotten was some lame pent-up sexual frustration that only made him looked egotistical and misogynistic.
