The setup of the movie wasn't anything worth jumping up and down for, the story also wasn't something that's worth much; so it all came down to the execution and the acting.
The direction was barely enough. There were a few scenes where they were slightly uncomfortable to watch when they were meant to be funny. And I believe the director failed to get the best out of his actors too.
The acting by the main cast was just average at best. Sudeikis at times looked like he could have been funnier or could have exaggerated more. Aniston could have done better too, maybe. But her stripping, there was a time when that would have been an event.
Emma Roberts and Will Poulter, the lesser known of the four, probably fared better with less expectations. Especially Poulter who was probably the funniest, but that's not really saying much. But I was most impressed with Molly C. Quinn who did not remind me at all of her character in Castle. So that was quite a surprise since she's been on Castle for years.
Under a more experienced director perhaps this movie would have turned out a bit better.
