47 Ronin (4/10)

I believe the legendary story of the 47 Ronin is a great story and if done properly, would be a great movie.

But this wasn't it. Loosely based on the 47 Ronin story, someone decided to make this into a fantasy movie.

I was bored for the entire first half of the movie. Loopholes everywhere and illogical story developments. And worst of all, the dialogue was just bad.

Only until the second half did the story began to interest me, when the 47 Ronin finally emerged. But even then, the dialogue was still bad. Story progression was still badly written and badly directed. Acting also wasn't up to par, especially Rinko Kikuchi overacting every scene. She was bad in Pacific Rim and one of the main reasons why I disliked the movie, equally bad here.

I was able to see the story of the 47 Ronin without all the CGI and that there is a story that was worthy of being told on the silver screen but this movie didn't do the story justice. I would love to see the real story done properly.
