Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit (7/10)

This had an all-star cast. From Chris Pine to Keira Knightley to Kenneth Branagh. But with Branagh at the helm, I expected a bit more than just a 7.

Truth was, there were times when the scenes and dialogue flew by so fast. Not only that, sometimes Pine's character put things together way too fast as well as he linked clues and made accurate deductions.

Knightley's character had the right amount of femininity and balls. But at times looked way too professional as a secret agent.

And I loved Kevin Costner in these kinds of roles. Reminded me of his The Bodyguard days. I'm glad he was in this movie.

However, as a thriller, it could have been more thrilling rather than fuzzy intensity. Maybe because the shortfall in writing had to be covered up with a false sense of urgency through fast paced sequences.
