Mindscape (6/10)
I can't say too much about this movie or I'll potentially spoil the ending.
I'll just say this. It has the potential to keep you guessing right until the end and I'll be surprised if a lot of people can guess how it ends.
I didn't really like what director Jorge Dorado did with some of the more dramatic scenes. I thought his strength lied more in creating thrilling tensions and less on bringing out the best from his actors.
Mark Strong's performance was quite weak to me. I didn't find him great to watch this time. Brian Cox, too, was okay but nothing worth noting.
Only the young Taissa Farmiga really shone in every one of her scenes. She was unpredictable and believable. A great casting choice that really made this movie.
One of the weakest plot points, however, was the main concept of the movie, which was the ability to entering one's memories. It wasn't explained well and it didn't even have some kind of an equipment, other than just having the two persons hold hands, to show a subliminal connection. And that's enough to enter someone's mind? Seems too easy.
But other than that minor point, the middle of the movie wasn't very strong and I would have cut some scenes out just to make the movie shorter and sweeter.
