You must have seen these dolls in toy shops before. I don't know them, I'm not interested in them; but then, Anna Kendrick has signed up to voice the lead in this musical. So now my interest has gone up a little.
And it will be directed by Mike Mitchell, who also did Shrek Forever After - weakest of the bunch in my opinion.
It's hard to say how ambitious this project is going to be but it is done by DreamWorks Animation after all. And if Kendrick is willing to do it, then it must at least be decent enough to interest her because I don't believe she's in it purely for the cash grab. Just look at what she's been doing.
Plus, she can take the lead for anything - she is a great actress, she sings superbly, and she has great comic timing.
Best case scenario, I'll watch it and enjoy it. Worse case scenario, it's a movie for kids. We'll know come 4 November, 2016.
