Warner Bros. has announced the release date for The Conjuring's first spin-off movie, Annabelle, featuring the freaky doll in the glass case; and it will go up against David Fincher and Ben Affleck's Gone Girl.
Who can forget that doll? We all knew watching The Conjuring that the doll would spell trouble. With this spin-off, we get to revisit The Conjuring world once again, but with a side story that has little to do with the original movie.
My only concern is that this spin-off is written by an unknown, Gary Dauberman, and directed by John R. Leonetti, a cinematographer who has only directed Mortal Kombat: Annihilation and The Butterfly Effect 2; both of which were nothing to brag about.
Granted that Leonetti was the cinematographer for The Conjuring so he is someone who is familiar with that world. However, I honestly do not have high hopes for this as of now.
