Oscar Winner Mark Boal To Write For Uncharted

Mark Boal of The Hurt Locker and Zero Dark Thirty fame, and Oscar winner for penning the former movie, has been brought on to write for the Uncharted script.

However, seems like the script just can't satisfy the studio executives because prior to the arrival of Boal, there were at least 5 other writers to have worked on it; including another Oscar nominee David O. Russell.

On the one hand, it's reassuring to see big writers to come and tackle the script for Uncharted. But on the other, even though it's not uncommon to go through so many writers, it's a a bit worrisome to keep changing writers.

At least Boal himself has said to be a fan of the game. And at least director Seth Gordon is still attached. No news yet as to who will be starring as the character Nathan Drake but I'm guessing once the script is done, they will then scout around for their star.

Uncharted is set to open on the same date, 10 June 2016, as Now You See Me 2 and also, just announced, The Conjuring 2.
