Even though there's a whole lot going on, this first official trailer for Insurgent - the second installment from the Divergent series - doesn't appeal to me much.
And I believe it's because this is an extremely poorly cut trailer. It's trying to show way too much action sequences and there was no substance to be found. I have no idea what's going on in this story or what direction it's headed.
Though from the trailer, we can see that the stakes are higher and there are also new faces and characters like Naomi Watts (who was almost unrecognisable) and Daniel Dae Kim; but without having read the book, none of them mean anything to me.
It'll also be interesting to see if Miles Teller, with his new found fame over the past year, will get a bigger role in this one. After Whiplash and the upcoming Fantastic Four, his face and name will bound to be a pull factor. And obviously he's appeared a couple of times in this trailer too.
