Cyclops, Jean Grey, Storm Have Been Cast For Next X-Men
As shooting will commence very soon in April in Montreal for the supposed conclusion to the X-Men: First Class trilogy with the big bad Apocalypse, the younger versions of Cyclops, Jean Grey and Storm have just been cast.
Tye Sheridan will portray Cyclops, Sophie Turner will portray Jean Grey, and Alexandra Shipp will portray Storm.
Since the trio are very much the staple characters of the X-Men lore, director Bryan Singer has wisely included them into this franchise as well, in which they would grow up to look like James Marsden, Famke Janssen and Halle Berry - a la Days Of Future Past.
I don't know Alexandra Shipp at all so I can't comment much. I've only seen Sheridan briefly in The Tree Of Life, but he co-starred alongside Matthew McConaughey in Mud and Nicolas Cage in Joe. All 3 films were critically acclaimed so this kid must have got talent.
As for Turner, I'm sure everyone knows her as she's one of the Stark kids in Game Of Thrones. And as a younger Jean Grey? I can see it.
As of now we still do not know how much of a role these characters will play in the events of Apocalypse, my guess is not that much at all (perhaps like Ice Man in X2); but I'm sure Singer will use them to their full potential. That's what Singer is good at.
I can't wait for this movie.
