With the departure of Roberto Orci, who was set to direct Stark Trek 3 with a script that he also came up with, now as Justin Lin takes over as director, Simon Pegg is brought on to do a bit of re-writing.
Pegg who is an accomplished writer himself, having written for some of his films like Shaun Of The Dead, Hot Fuzz, Paul and The World's End, has been given a pen to add some of his flavour to the script written by Orci.
As a fanboy himself of all things "Star", he will definitely stay true to the mythology. But I'm guessing what he's bringing to the table is some comedic stuff, some things that he and Lin can work together; maybe even beef up his character, Scotty, a little bit more. Maybe even lets Scotty saves the day. Who knows.
