Gambit Gets Release Date, Meaning 3 X-Movies In 2016!

If you have been keeping count, you'll know that Deadpool starring Ryan Reynolds will be released on 12 February 2016, and that X-Men: Apocalypse has been announced early last December that it will be released on 27 May 2016.

Now, the Cajun X-Man Gambit starring Channing Tatum has confirmed a release date of 7 October 2016 by 20th Century Fox.

This would mean that Fox will have 3 X-Movies come 2016, beating out Disney and Marvel's 2017 in releasing 3 comic book movies in a calendar year. DC on the other hand still only has 2 per year until 2020 (though all these might change if Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice and Suicide Squad perform exceptionally well next year).

Fox is really ramping things up for next year. If all 3 movies perform, they will be able to look into who else in the X-World can they bring into the silver screen for 2018 and beyond.

And let's not forget Fox also has the new and different Fantastic Four coming up this year on 7 August, while the sequel to that has now had a slight move upwards to 2 June 2017.

Still remember the time when Fox was making horrible comic book movies like X-Men Origins: Wolverine and the two vomit-worthy Fantastic Four? They are very close to redeeming themselves if the new FF is a success come August.
