Female Lead In Deadpool Finally Cast
A few days ago Gina Carano was cast in the upcoming Fox's X-Men spin-off, Deadpool, and I talked about how they needed to cast their main female lead soon to meet production kick-off date.
Today, it is confirmed that after considering six options (which were reportedly as Jessica De Gouw, Sarah Green, Crystal Reed, Morena Baccarin, Rebecca Rittenhouse and Taylor Schilling), the role has confirmed to go to the "Homeland" and "Gotham" star, Baccarin.
She will now join Ryan Reynolds, T. J. Miller and Carano headlining the movie. It has also been confirmed that Colossus will have a feature, though we're not sure how big or small of a role he will have in the movie.
However, Daniel Cudmore has confirmed on Twitter that he will not be playing Colossus this time around - after having been in the three X-Men movies that had Colossus in them. What will this mean for the character? We'll find out soon enough.
Deadpool is set to be directed by Tim Miller and to be released on 12 February 2016.
