Judging from this first trailer of Lost River, it reminds me of his previous few movies such as The Place Beyond The Pines and Blue Valentine, both of which were directed by Derek Cianfrance; as well as Drive and Only God Forgives, which were directed by Nicolas Winding Refn.
I've said before that Gosling looked perfect in Cianfrance's and Refn's movies, and since they've already worked together twice respectively, it wouldn't be a surprise if Cianfrance or Refn's directing skills has rubbed off onto Gosling. Those can only be great things as both directors are brilliant filmmakers.

Lost River has that edgy, moody and dark feel, at the same time the shots chosen by Gosling also has an artistic value to them. I would love to see more soon.
Starring Saoirse Ronan, Christina Hendricks, Eva Mendes and Iain De Caestecker, the movie will be released later this year.
