Nobody likes M. Night Shyamalan anymore... except me.
That's why with this new movie, Shyamalan is going small budget and collaborating with Blumhouse for an indie kind of horror flick.
Now there are a few positives to be had from this. Blumhouse Production has had quite the successful record, both with horror fans and critics, with their small budget horror releases like Insidious and Sinister (and also Paranormal Activity and The Purge which I didn't really care for).
Shyamalan started his career with indie movies as well before The Sixth Sense, including Praying With Anger and Wide Awake, that's where he honed his skills. So going back to the small scale projects may bring out the best in him again.
And the combination with Blumhouse Production may elevate him as a horror director, too.
Finally, this trailer honestly looks promising. It's creepy and it's not a paranormal kind of horror - meaning it will require the creation of scary atmosphere to frighten the audience, and that's what Shyamalan excels in.
The Visit's most recognisable cast is Kathryn Hahn but seems like only in a small capacity, and will be released on 11 September 2015. And I'm excited for it.
