Finally, more movies from the X-world of mutants.
20th Century Fox has announced that they are developing a spin-off of their most popular comic book franchise, X-Men. And they are looking into the source materials of the The New Mutants.
The New Mutants, much like how X-Men started, will be centering around a group of young teenagers with mutant abilities in training to becoming the next X-Men. But while doing so, they have heroic adventures of their own.
This opens up doors for some of the previously (and fully grown) mutants to come back as their younger selves, like Warpath, Sunspot and Blink from X-Men: Days Of Future Past. They would all have to be recast, of course.
The movie is said to be under the care of director Josh Boone, who is coming off of The Fault In Our Stars fame. He will also act as writer for the movie.
No concrete information on release date as of yet but I'm guessing it would be at least a year after X-Men: Apocalypse, i.e. a 2017 window.
