New Bourne Movie Moves Forward And Casts Alicia Vikander

Many have been awaiting patiently for Matt Damon to return to the Bourne franchise, and he was very vocal about how he would only return if director Paul Greengrass would return with him.

Seems like that was the ultimatum, pun intended, and Universal Pictures has decided to grant everyone's wishes.

Greengrass is set to direct Damon once again as Damon reprises his role as Jason Bourne for, technically, the fifth Bourne movie. But for those who wants to see a crossover between Damon and Jeremy Renner's character (the latter led the fourth film, The Bourne Legacy); that is still going to be a wait.

Last week, Deadline confirmed that Julia Stiles is also set to reprise her role from the series. Today, Deadline once again broke the news that Alicia Vikander is also been cast for this next installment.

Vikander seems to be a rising star and a hot commodity at the moment, her role in Ex Machina must have been a good one. She can next be seen in The Man From U.N.C.L.E., playing opposite Henry Cavill and Armie Hammer, which will be released on 14 August 2015.

She also has two more movies scheduled to be released before the end of this year, Adam Jones with Bradley Cooper, and The Danish Girl with Eddie Redmayne.

Production for this next Bourne movie is reported to be close to starting but no word yet on a title or a plot. The movie will be released on 29 July 2016.
