Gary Oldman Headlines New Sci-Fi The Space Between Us

STX Entertainment has officially titled their upcoming intergalactic sci-fi love story as The Space Between Us, according to ComingSoon.

And Gary Oldman is leading a cast that consists of Asa Butterfield, Britt Robertson, Carla Gugino and B.D. Wong.

The story centres around two teenagers, one from Earth (Butterfield) and the other born on Mars (Robertson), and they started an online romantic relationship. Butterfield's character decides to risk his life by travelling to Earth to meet Robertson, and they later track down the original billionaire (I'm guessing is Oldman) who funded the expedition to Mars 16 years ago in order to learn more about Butterfield's parents.

Can I guess that Gugino once again will play a mother (like in San Andreas), in this case, to Robertson; while Wong once again will play another mad scientist like he did in the recent Jurassic World?

Sounds very interesting and literally a star-crossed lover in the works. The movie will begin production very soon and is directed by Peter Chelsom, who also directed Shall We Dance and Serendipity.

The Space Between Us has no date of release yet in 2016.
